AV-Test measured performance by subjecting AVG to never-seen-before malware, malware less than 90 days old and malware known to be widespread for quite a while. AV-Test measured repair scores by seeing how AVG did when confronted with a PC where malware had already established itself. AV-Test measured usability by recording AVG’s impact on system performance. Further AV-Test analysis was to see whether AVG labeled any safe files as malicious. AVG achieved such good test results that it ranks fifth in our lineup of 18 products.
